Happy Halloween!
So we have now arrived to my favorite holiday, Halloween, and I have been saving this review for today, because it is perfect. Today I will be reviewing The Lantern's Ember by Colleen Houck, and this is the perfect Halloween story. Colleen takes you into a world of how Halloween started and while reading this book you will start to see all the Halloween stories you are used to.
The description was taken from the Goodreads website:
"Welcome to a world where nightmarish creatures reign supreme.
Five hundred years ago, Jack made a deal with the devil. It’s difficult for him to remember much about his mortal days. So, he focuses on fulfilling his sentence as a Lantern—one of the watchmen who guard the portals to the Otherworld, a realm crawling with every nightmarish creature imaginable. Jack has spent centuries jumping from town to town, ensuring that nary a mortal—or not-so-mortal—soul slips past him. That is, until he meets beautiful Ember O’Dare.
Seventeen, stubborn, and a natural-born witch, Ember feels a strong pull to the Otherworld. Undeterred by Jack’s warnings, she crosses into the forbidden plane with the help of a mysterious and debonair vampire—and the chase through a dazzling, dangerous world is on. Jack must do everything in his power to get Ember back where she belongs before both the earthly and unearthly worlds descend into chaos."
Ember is a witch that feels drawn to the Otherworld and she isn't sure why. Jack is a lantern, and has been watching over Ember ever since she was a child. Ember will do anything within her power to make it through the crossroad and into the Otherworld, even accept help from a Vampire. When Ember is brought into the Otherworld, Jack must leave his post and go chasing after her to try and bring her back home. While in the Otherworld, Ember meets creatures like Vampires, Demons, Witches, Werewolves, invisible men, Frankenstein, and even the boogieman makes an appearance. Colleen brings you into another world where creatures that we have only believed to be made up exist. She weaves a story that introduces how our favorite Halloween stories were created in a way, and all of her creatures make you think about one's you have heard before. This story will have you guessing until the end, and trust me when I say there is a twist that you never saw coming, and couldn't even begin to guess what it was until it his dropped on you like a bomb.
This book will get you in the Halloween spirit, even after all the ghouls have gone home for the night!
Trick or Treat with this fun delight my fellow ghouls and goblins!

Carrots: A Shelby Nichols Adventure Review
Happy Halloween Eve!
So I have a review coming out tomorrow on Halloween, however I just got done reading this super intense amazing book, and I can't wait to review it. Carrots by Colleen Helme, is a non-stop action adventure, filled with gangsters, action, laughter, obsession, and carrots. This book was suggested to me last week by one of my co-workers and when I started reading I couldn't put it down. It was so good that before I even finished the book, I went ahead and ordered the rest of the 11 book series which will be here Thursday. I am already having trouble waiting a couple of days...
The description from the Goodreads website is as follows:
"Shelby Nichols is an average woman who is married to the only guy she ever fell for. Her life is organized and predictable, revolving around her husband and two children. All that changes the day she stops at the grocery store for some carrots. As the cashier rings up her purchases, a gunman is busy robbing the bank inside the store. When a customer grabs the robber's mask, he is shot and everyone runs for cover. Everyone except Shelby, who finds herself face to face with the killer. The next thing she knows, she's lying on the floor with a bullet wound to her head. Luckily, the bullet only grazes her scalp, and she doesn't suspect any lasting affects until later, when she suddenly 'hears' what people are thinking. With this uncanny ability, her life takes on a whole new dimension. Her kids think she's bossy and too old to understand them, but that's nothing compared to her husband. He says he loves her, but what is it about the redhead at work that he doesn't want her to know? As if that isn't enough, the gunman knows she can identify him, and he's out to silence her forever. In her fight to stay alive, she is saved from certain death by a handsome hit-man with ties to organized crime. This pulls Shelby even deeper into danger, where knowing someone's thoughts can not only hurt her feelings, but get her killed."
Shelby was just your ordinary run of the mill stay at home mother, until she decided to pick up some carrots for dinner and her entire world changes. She starts to hear people's thoughts, and this leads her down a dangerous and thrilling adventure ride, where she learns things about herself, and the people around her. The things she gets herself into will make you laugh, and be on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next. You will want to kill some of the characters, slap them, cuss them, and will definitely fall in love with them.
I want to share a quote from Carrots with you, because when I read it I laughed, and could relate to how Shelby felt in that moment, and hopefully you will feel the same.
"I pulled into the parking lot, but all the close spots were taken, and I ended up parking so far away that I knew I'd get soaked. Did I really need the Carrots? I turned off the engine and without the wipers going, I could barely see out the windshield. I waited for a few minutes, hoping the rain would let up, but when it didn't, I knew I'd have to make a run for it."
Go fourth and dodge those bullets friends!

The Night Circus Review
Hey Guys!
Can you believe October is almost over? This year has been going by so fast. With keeping to the Fall theme, today I am reviewing The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This book is so beautifully written that you will be caught up in the disappearing, re-appearing circus world. This book has magic, mystery, forbidden love, and suspense. What more could you ask for in a nail biting wild adventure ride.
The summery for this book was taken from the Goodreads website:
" The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.
True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.
Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart."
Celia and Marco are like Romeo and Juliet thrown into the glorious backdrop of the circus. Celia is groomed to be the best magician out there, and is supposed to hate Marco. Marco has been taught that Celia is the enemy and he must destroy her. When they start falling in love they see each other in a different light, and must keep their romance a secret from their instructors. Erin brings these characters struggles together, and takes the reader on a mysterious, magical ride that you won't want to get off of. I didn't want to put this book down when I read it, and I had to know how everything ended. This story is written in such a way that it will keep the reader guessing until the very end, and will take you on so many twist and turns that you get lost in this amazing adventure.
Enjoy the Circus my fellow readers!

Worlds of Ink and Shadow Review
Happy Friday Everyone!
So today I am going to be reviewing World's of Ink and Shadow by Lena Coakley. This book takes the reader into the home of the Bronte children. You are introduced to all three sisters, Charlotte, Ann, and Emily, along with their brother, Branwell. The women are in the process of writing their stories, and not only do you get a glimpse into what their lives could be like, you also get thrown into this extraordinary world where their words come to life.
The description has been taken from the Goodreads website:
"Charlotte, Branwell, Emily, and Anne. The Brontë siblings have always been close. After all, nothing can unite four siblings quite like life in an isolated parsonage on the moors. Their vivid imaginations lend them escape from their strict, spartan upbringing, actually transporting them into their created worlds: the glittering Verdopolis and the romantic and melancholy Gondal. But at what price? As Branwell begins to slip into madness and the sisters feel their real lives slipping away, they must weigh the cost of their powerful imaginations, even as their characters—the brooding Rogue and dashing Duke of Zamorna—refuse to let them go."
I don't know what to say about this story further from the description because I don't want to give anything away, however I am still going to try. The Bronte siblings create an imaginary world that they could escape to when they wanted to get away from their normal lives. The characters in this imaginary world have been given their own personalities, and dare we say the world is adapting. Not only does this story bring you into the world of the Bronte's but Lena has created an imaginary world that even the Bronte's would be proud of. Lena's descriptions of each character is mixed with fact and fiction, to bring an added degree of depth into this amazing story of siblings. Charlotte is one of the main characters in the story, but Lena doesn't take away the importance of Ann, Emily or Branwell. The reader gets to feel how much the siblings loved each other, loved writing, and how much they would do to keep their family together.
Here is a quote from the book, "True, it was Charlotte and Branwell who created these places, but they'd been happy to take their younger sisters. In those days, they crossed over by acting out a story, not by writing. All they needed were a few opening words. A door of light would open, one of them would make that mysterious hand gesture, and they would all go through".
And with that I am going to leave that there. If you are a fan of the Bronte's I would highly recommend you read this book so that you can dive into their world of imagination.
Happy Travels!

I've Got Your Number Review
Hey guys!
So today I bring you the romantic comedy of I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. When I read this book, I would honestly laugh out loud, and get weird looks in the process. This book is so amazing, funny, and heartfelt at the same time. It is a refreshing story, and will have you wishing to grab the wrong phone so you can go on an adventure like you do while reading this book.
The description is taken from the Goodreads website:
"I’ve lost it. :( The only thing in the world I wasn’t supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It’s been in Magnus’s family for three generations. And now the very same day his parents are coming, I’ve lost it. The very same day! Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive :) !!
Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!
Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.
What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life."
Poppy is a character that I could relate to on every level imaginable, except being in engaged, because I don't know how that feels. Poppy loses her engagement ring, and when she finds a phone discarded in a trashcan, a hilarious adventure ensues. Her personality clashes with Sam's and they are both so different that the relationship shouldn't work but it does. Sam is more uptight than Poppy, however during their adventure together you get to see them discover their true selves, and start rubbing off on each other. This story is told in a way that only Sophia can deliver. You get laughter, tears, romance, happiness, and truth discovery all within the pages of this book.
The characters are so life like that you will want to be their friends and you will wish you had Poppy's luck.
Go forward and fall in love my dear friends!

Jane A Review
Hello Fellow Readers!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Today I am going
to be reviewing Jane by April Linder. When I stumbled upon
this book, I knew I had to read it because it sounded like a unique take
on Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I am one of those people
that love retellings of classic novels, and being one who loves Jane
Eyre I was willing to read it. Now, when someone does a retelling of a
classic novel, you do get slightly worried, because what if it totally destroys
the original. I did have this feeling, however when I began to read it, I
couldn't put it down, and I just knew I had to finish it. I was not at all
disappointed with the way April brought new life into a classic love story. She
didn't take anything away from the original, instead you added more depth and
character to the story.
The description of Jane is below, provided from
the Goodreads website:
"Forced to drop out of an
esteemed East Coast college after the sudden death of her parents, Jane Moore
takes a nanny job at Thornfield Park, the estate of Nico Rathburn, a
world-famous rock star on the brink of a huge comeback. Practical and
independent, Jane reluctantly becomes entranced by her magnetic and brooding
employer and finds herself in the midst of a forbidden romance.
But there's a mystery at Thornfield, and Jane's much-envied
relationship with Nico is soon tested by an agonizing secret from his past.
Torn between her feelings for Nico and his fateful secret, Jane must decide:
Does being true to herself mean giving up on true love?
An irresistible romance interwoven with a darkly engrossing
mystery, this contemporary retelling of the beloved classic Jane Eyre promises
to enchant a new generation of readers."
Jane Moore has all the characteristics of the original Jane,
however they have been upgraded to fit into a new society, and introduce a new
audience to the classic tale. Plus, Mr. Rochester has been turned into a sexy
rock star named Nico Rathburn. Even his name sounds sexy...and this comes from
a girl who apparently has a thing for jerks, because I fell in love with the
original Mr. Rochester, just as I did Nico. When you read this book you see the
complex relationship between Jane and Nico, and you get to see how they evolve
as individuals. Nico is one of the best takes on Mr. Rochester that I have seen
so far, and I will admit I may even like Nico slightly better, but only just
slightly. April breathes life into her characters, makes them dance off the
page, and right into the readers hearts. This book will help the classic live
on for generations.
Any fan of Charlotte Bronte or Jane Eyre needs
to read this amazing book, and hopefully fall in love with this updated
characters as I did!
Happy Reading!

Fight or Flight Review
Hello fellow adventurers!
Today I am going to review the amazing new book Fight or Flight by Samantha Young. Now I am not going to be ashamed to say that I stayed up until 2 am to finish reading this book when I only had 70 something pages to go. I just had to see how it ended for the two main characters, and lets just say you won't be disappointed with any part of this book.
The description from Goodreads:
"The universe is conspiring against Ava Breevort. As if flying back to Phoenix to bury a childhood friend wasn't hell enough, a cloud of volcanic ash traveling from overseas delayed her flight back home to Boston. Her last ditch attempt to salvage the trip was thwarted by an arrogant Scotsman, Caleb Scott, who steals a first class seat out from under her. Then over the course of their journey home, their antagonism somehow lands them in bed for the steamiest layover Ava's ever had. And that's all it was--until Caleb shows up on her doorstep.
When pure chance pulls Ava back into Caleb's orbit, he proposes they enjoy their physical connection while he's stranded in Boston. Ava agrees, knowing her heart's in no danger since a) she barely likes Caleb and b) his existence in her life is temporary. Not long thereafter Ava realizes she's made a terrible error because as it turns out Caleb Scott isn't quite so unlikeable after all. When his stay in Boston becomes permanent, Ava must decide whether to fight her feelings for him or give into them. But even if she does decide to risk her heart on Caleb, there is no guarantee her stubborn Scot will want to risk his heart on her...."
Now if you didn't get interested from that description, than maybe the cover will help sway your decision:
Book image taken from the Goodreads website.
Ava has been hurt in the past and you will see her come to terms with that through the entire book. As the book goes on you learn more about Caleb, and what you learn will hurt you and surprise you all at the same time. Both Ava and Caleb have learned from their past or are they just using it as a weapon of protection against love and letting someone in? This book had me laughing, crying, screaming, and wanting to jump through the pages to slap some characters silly. Ava did remind me a lot about myself, because I noticed that I was holding on to the things that hurt me in the past, and how I am still letting them affect me to this day. Through reading this book, I discovered that in order to fully be happy you need to let go of the past, and live your life to the fullest. I am honestly hoping she comes out with another book, so I can see the relationship between two characters grow, and check in on how Ava and Caleb are doing.
I love reading books that you never want to let go of the characters because you see something in them that you see in yourself. This book also has me believing in fate and love again. It also makes me want to start getting on a plane to Scotland, and seeing if I can catch me a Scottish man, because Samantha paints them as sexy beasts. Plus you can just hear the accent in your head when you are reading the lines in the story, which is sexy in it's own way!
I will warn that their are sex scenes in this book, but they don't take away from the story, they only add to it!
Happy plane travels my friends!

RoseBlood Review
Hello Adventure Seekers!
The book I chose to review today is RoseBlood by A.G. Howard. This is a retelling of Phantom of the Opera, but it takes it a little further than the original story. In true A.G. fashion, she takes a tell that is beloved by many, and turns it into a new adventure that will have you loving the story even more. In my opinion, I always wanted the Phantom and Christine to be together, and no matter how many times I watch the movie, and know how it ends, it doesn't make me stop wishing it would change.
The description from Goodreads is as follows:
"In this modern day spin on Leroux’s gothic tale of unrequited love turned to madness, seventeen-year-old Rune Germain has a mysterious affliction linked to her operatic talent, and a horrifying mistake she’s trying to hide. Hoping creative direction will help her, Rune’s mother sends her to a French arts conservatory for her senior year, located in an opera house rumored to have ties to The Phantom of the Opera.
At RoseBlood, Rune secretly befriends the masked Thorn—an elusive violinist who not only guides her musical transformation through dreams that seem more real than reality itself, but somehow knows who she is behind her own masks. As the two discover an otherworldly connection and a soul-deep romance blossoms, Thorn’s dark agenda comes to light and he’s forced to make a deadly choice: lead Rune to her destruction, or face the wrath of the phantom who has haunted the opera house for a century, and is the only father he’s ever known."
Rune is like a modern day Christine, and Thorn a modern day Phantom. Their story is so touching, filled with mystery, lies, and betrayal. This story will keep you in the dark and guessing until the very last page. Rune is a strong heroine in her own way, and Thorn is hot as all get out with problems of his own. Rune and Thorn have to overcome their pasts, but will it lead them to each other or down darker paths. I was so excited when I heard this book was coming out because I love the Phantom of the Opera so so much! It had me wanting to watch the movie over again, although we all know Christine chooses the wrong man in the end.
While reading this book you are transported into the world of the Phantom or what used to be his world in France. The descriptions in this book will have you imagining the scenery in your head, and will make you want to visit France to see if these images are true for yourself. The Phantom of the Opera has always led readers on a strange adventure, and RoseBlood will not leave you disappointed!
Fall in love with the Phantom all over again with this amazing story! Plus the cover is beautiful, if you need anymore convincing to read it!

Tangled Web of Love Review
Hey Fellow Readers!
I am really excited about the review I am going to be sharing with you today! It's called Tangled Web of Love, and it is by one of my favorite authors Joanne Rawson. I have loved every single book this author has put out, and this one made me fall in love with her writing again! This book is out of Joanne's comfort zone, which she states herself, but this book is so in depth and you get not one story but multiple stories.
Book description taken from Goodreads:
"Faith formed a unique relationship with her boyfriend, Paul. They liked their independence, doing what they wanted without consulting the other, and they had never said those three significant words, I love you, which none of their friends or family could quite understand. However, there is one complication in their relationship—Paul’s snobbish father, who thought Faith an unsuitable lady friend for his son. In fear that his son would marry Faith and interbreed, he demanded Paul stop seeing her.

In fear that his son would marry Faith and interbreed, he demanded Paul stop seeing her.
When Paul suddenly does a disappearing act, Faith decides
whatever it was between her and Paul was over. He could come back on bended
knee, begging and kicking, but there wasn’t a chance in hell this time they
would get back together. However, when Paul returns unannounced, he finds Faith
in the arms of another man.
What happens next is a tangled web of double dating, secrecy,
sexual favors, and betrayal"
Now I will warn you, this book does have sex scenes in them, so age restriction required, but reading this book is so worth it! The best thing I loved about this book is that instead of reading from only one character's point of view, you get to read from every single characters point of view. To me this gives the story a more in-depth approach. Not only do you get to see the story from one point of view but you get to see it from several points of view. You get to feel every characters emotions, and develop love hate relationships with them. Plus Joanne keeps you guessing until the last page on what is going to happen next. What I also loved about this story is that all the female characters are relatable to real life, and you get to form a connection with them.
I have definitely dated some crap guys in my life, and this story made me think about them but in a good way. If you are struggling to come to terms with a relationship, than you need to read this book, because it may put some things in perspective for you, like it did me.
Dive into secrecy and a tangled web of love readers!

All the Little Lights Review
Hey Readers!
So today I am going to be reviewing All the Little Lights by Jamie McGuire. I first fell in love with Jamie's writing when my plane got delayed and I found her book Beautiful Disaster in the airport store. All the Little Lights follows her style of writing and ability to make you feel like your part of the story. You are able to place yourself in the characters foot steps, and might even have experienced some of the same events as the main characters do.
The description of the book has been taken from Goodreads:
"The first time Elliott Youngblood spots Catherine Calhoun, he’s just a boy with a camera, and he’s never seen a sadder and more beautiful sight. Both Elliott and Catherine feel like outcasts, yet they find an easy friendship with each other. But when Catherine needs him most, Elliott is forced to leave town.
Elliott finally returns, but he and Catherine are now different people. He’s a star high school athlete, and she spends all her free time working at her mother’s mysterious bed-and-breakfast. Catherine hasn’t forgiven Elliott for abandoning her, but he’s determined to win back her friendship…and her heart.
Just when Catherine is ready to fully trust Elliott, he becomes the prime suspect in a local tragedy. Despite the town’s growing suspicions, Catherine clings to her love for Elliott. But a devastating secret that Catherine has buried could destroy whatever chance of happiness they have left".
This story is told from Elliott's point of view and Catherine's point of view. You get to experience both sides of the story and get a better understanding of each character. Catherine is written as a strong female character, which I absolutely love, and plus she isn't perfect and has her own flaws, so she is more relatable. Plus don't get me started on how hot Elliott sounds, because oh my lord, he sounds like one fine man, which is in true Jamie fashion. You are taken on a journey through heartbreak, first love, forgiveness, and suspense. Catherine and Elliott are not perfect at all, which gives them more of a real person feel, because in all honestly the less perfect a character is, the better the story is. Catherine has her share of heartbreak and loss, while at the same time learning some new things about herself. Elliott has his own share of problems, and through it is able to be strong and supportive of Catherine.
I don't want to give too much away, because in all honestly it would be very easy to do with this amazing story. This story will take you on a roller coaster ride that you are not going to want to get off of. I wanted to finish the book, but than again I didn't because I didn't want to let this beautiful story between these two characters go. This is a good book to read by a fire, with tissues on hand, under a blanket, with a nice cup of hot chocolate.
Get ready to go on the ride of your life, and just maybe you will fall in love along the way!

Girl At The Grave: A Review
Hello my fellow readers!
Keeping with the amazing Fall weather we are having, I wanted to review a book that fits right in with Halloween. That book is called Girl at the Grave by Teri Bailey Black. This book is set back in 1849, and has everything that you could want in a book. It has murder, romance, mystery, and suspense. The book follows a young girl, Valentine, who witnessed her mother killing someone, however when the murders start happening again, she goes on a dangerous and mysterious journey to revel the truth.
The description from Goodreads is as follows:
"Valentine has spent years trying to outrun her mother's legacy. But small towns have long memories, and when a new string of murders occurs, all signs point to the daughter of a murderer.
Only one person believes Valentine is innocent—Rowan Blackshaw, the son of the man her mother killed all those years ago. Valentine vows to find the real killer, but when she finally uncovers the horrifying truth, she must choose to face her own dark secrets, even if it means losing Rowan in the end."
I will admit I love a good murder mystery and this book reminded me of Agatha Christie's stories. It gives you just enough clues on who it could be, however when the truth is reveled, it will be someone you never expected. Valentine is a strong, independent character, who has had to learn to take care of herself, and practically grow into an adult before her time. During her journey, you meet her best friend Sam, and Rowan, who is the son of the man her mother killed. It turns out that when her back is against the wall she does get support from someone who you wouldn't have thought would give their support to her, Rowan.
Valentine will put her life on the line to track down a killer to prove if her mother was really innocent or not. The reader is transported to a time when the justice system was ruled by money, and you get to be right along with Valentine as she navigates murder, romance, friendship, and scandal. Sam and Rowan bring about two separate personality types that both have their positives and negatives. Teri takes you on a journey through a time where anyone could be convicted of murder and where a murder could hide behind lies.
Plus the book cover is what drew me to this book in the first place, which I have provided below. Once the cover piqued my interest, I read the description and knew I had to know how the story ended.
Image taken from Goodreads website
If you are a fan of a good who done it, and love not knowing who the killer is until the last second, than this book is for you. It also puts you into the fall spirit and this is one book you don't want to put down for one second, because you will have to know what happens next, and who the killer is.
Happy Hunting!!

Part of Your Wold: A Twisted Tale Review
Hey Everyone!!
So I'm really excited about this review!!! As you may have guessed from the title, it is a twisted tale of The Little Mermaid. The description on the cover explains it all by stating "What if Ariel had never defeated Ursula?" That sentence, plus the cover, plus the author had me screaming and buying the book immediately. Liz Braswell is the author to a couple more twisted tales, which will be reviewed later, but since Part of Your World just came out I wanted to start with this one.
The description on Goodreads states:
"What if Ariel had never defeated Ursula? Five years after the (twisted) events of the film, Ariel is now the queen of Atlantica, and Ursula is running Eric's kingdom on land. But when the sea witch threatens Atlantica once more, Ariel finds herself returning to a world (and a prince) she thought she'd left behind forever."
Now although this description is short, it packs a punch without giving the entire thing away. This story is differed from The Little Mermaid we all grew up on, however it sticks to the original story so well that it fits perfectly. Ariel has to run Atlantica, because she did not get Eric and turned back into a mermaid. Meanwhile, Ursula is still undercover as Vanessa and running the kingdom that rightfully belongs to Eric. Where is Eric in all of this? All I will say is he is around, however you will have to read the book to see what becomes of him.
Plus all of the characters that you fell in love with in the movie make an appearance, and you even meet new characters that you will love, and one you will want to know more about. You get to learn about each of the main characters from the movie to see how they have changed and get to see their personalities more in depth. When I got done reading this book, it had me wanting to watch Disney's The Little Mermaid again, because it reminded me of how much I loved the movie.
This story has it all, adventure, romance, laughter, sadness, and longing to be who you were truly meant to be. Any fan of Disney and/or the Little Mermaid needs to read this book. Liz can spin a tale while still keeping true to the heart of the original story without making it unrecognizable.
(Plus the cover is so beautiful!!)
Image from Goodreads website
This would also be a good book to read with Halloween this month, but I highly recommend any Disney lover needs to read this book, and the others in the series, which I will be reviewing later in my blog!
May the reading odds be ever in your favor!

Trashy Romance Novel Review
Hey Guys!
So today I am going to review Trashy Romance Novel by Jacqueline E. Smith. When you hear the title, I bet you are thinking to yourself, "What kind of book is this exactly". The answer one amazing book about an author who wrote what she refers to as a trashy romance novel that is being turned into a TV series. I personally haven't spoken to any authors who are having their books turned into TV shows or movies, but after reading this book, I feel like it would be accurate.
Just read the description provided by Goodreads:
""It all started with a crush. How cliche is that? I mean, of all the things to motivate a person to do something, how often does it go back to a silly infatuation? More often than most of us would probably care to admit. Of course, this wasn't an ordinary crush on a cute coworker or a charming friend of a friend I hooked up with at a party. No, I've never met the man who inspired my books. But I'm about to." Delaney Brooks is the author of The Queen's Surrogate, the "sinfully satisfactory" romance novel that swept readers around the world off their feet and into the fictional embrace of His Majesty, King Malcolm. When her book is adapted into an eight-part miniseries, Delaney and her best friend Gemma fly to Scotland for what promises to be two months of lush green mountains, historic castles, and hot celebrity co-workers, including the gorgeous Matthew Kent, British playboy Benjamin Wyndham, and Hollywood's hottest reformed rebel, Colin Ward".
Now this book is not filled with sex scenes, but it is a heart felt romance story that will make you laugh and cry. The main character Delaney, doesn't want her family to know that she is an author of these books, because she is embarrassed by them, however as the story goes on we get to see her journey into acceptance with herself. This story is based in Scotland for the majority of the story, and what a beautiful place for this book. This is another author that makes you want to visit the places she is describing and feeling like you have been there before.
I don't want to give away anything about this book, however be prepared to go on an emotional roller coaster of the best kind. The characters in this story are so real that you can see yourself in them, and you also want to know them more. Delaney is a character that is all of us. She gets to meet her Hollywood crush, and how many of us have wanted to do that. I'm not going to lie, this book had me wanting to go to Hollywood and see if I could get some hottie to fall in love with me. Plus the male characters in this book, are described so well that you can get a clear image of them, and well actually every character in your head. You will want them to be your best friend, and you wish they were real so you can get to know them.
I know that my past posts have been about getting to know characters and emotional roller coaster rides, however I believe that those are some of the best books to read. When you can get lost in a book and escape your world without leaving your bedroom, than you get to have an adventure without taking a plane anywhere, and to me that is the best adventure of all.

As Dust Dances Review
So I have been a fan of Samantha Young, ever since I first read On Dublin Street. Samantha draws you into her stories and makes you feel exactly what the character is feeling, and her characters are real. She writes roller coaster books that make you cry, laugh, get mad, and happy all while reading. When I saw that she had a new book coming out, I was so excited that I had to get it right away. As Dust Dances is the second book in her play on series. I didn't read the first one before this one, and although they are apart of a series I believe they can be read as stand alone, because I didn't feel lost in this book.
The description from Goodreads is as follows:
"Once upon a time Skylar Finch was the lead singer of a hugely successful American pop-rock band. But fame made her miserable. When years of living a lie suddenly ended in tragedy, Skylar fell off the map.
Eighteen months later she’s sleeping in a tent in a cemetery in Glasgow, making just enough money to eat by busking on the streets. She manages to avoid recognition, but not the attention of one of Glasgow’s ambitious A&R executives.
Killian O’Dea works at Skyscraper Records, Scotland’s most successful record label. Raised by his uncle and owner of the label, Killian’s upbringing would have been devoid of affection entirely if it wasn’t for his loving sister. Killian is unflinchingly determined to bring the label more success than ever, and the young homeless woman who busks on Buchanan Street is going to help him do that. Her music speaks to him in a way he refuses to over-analyze. All he knows is that if it can touch his dark soul, it’ll set everyone else’s alight.
Skylar makes it clear that she doesn’t want to sign with him. But when she experiences the dangerous reality of a woman sleeping rough, Skylar has no one else but Killian to turn to. An undeniable connection forms between them. But Skylar doesn’t want the career Killian is trying to forge for her, and when her past comes back to haunt her Killian will be faced with a decision that could ruin him. He must either free Skylar from his selfish machinations and destroy everything he’s ever worked for, or lose a woman who has come to mean more to him than he ever thought possible…"

Now I will warn you this book does tackle some issues that people may believe are too sensitive, and it does have some descriptive sex scenes, but if you don't care about those than this book will be the perfect read for you. The story pulls you in from the very first sentence, and will have you wanting to read it in one sitting to see what happens next. Plus, as is all her male characters, this one is sexy..I know that sounds weird to say, but hey I am a girl who can appreciate sexy guys, even if they are only on paper or fictional characters in a cartoon. This amazing book had me rooting for Skylar, and at the same time screaming at her that she was an idiot, but the same thing could be said about Killian. Plus it takes place in Scotland, which with the descriptions that Samantha brings to her reads, will make you feel like you have visited Glasgow before, and will also have you wanting to visit it.
If you like to get lost in far away places, sexy male characters, independent female characters, and love stories that take you on an emotional journey than this book is definitely for you.
Happy Reading!

Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel Review
So,
since Halloween is this month, I wanted my first post to be Halloween themed,
and to me what better way to ring in the Fall season with Hocus
Pocus. Now I know a lot of people who loves the movie is going to be
skeptical, however this book is so worth it. It sticks to the original story of
the movie, and the sequel expands on the story and brings everything together,
while sticking with the true spirit that is Hocus Pocus.
The
book description taken from Goodreads is as follows:
"Hocus Pocus is beloved by
Halloween enthusiasts all over the world. Diving once more into the world of
witches, this electrifying two-part young adult novel, released on the
twenty-fifth anniversary of the 1993 film, marks a new era of Hocus Pocus. Fans
will be spellbound by a fresh retelling of the original film, followed by the
all-new sequel that continues the story with the next generation of Salem teens.
Shortly after moving from California to Salem, Massachusetts,
Max Dennison finds himself in hot water when he accidentally releases a coven
of witches, the Sanderson sisters, from the afterlife. Max, his sister, and his
new friends (human and otherwise) must find a way to stop the witches from
carrying out their evil plan and remaining on earth to torment Salem for all
eternity.
Twenty-five years later, Max and Allison's seventeen-year-old
daughter, Poppy, finds herself face-to-face with the Sanderson sisters in all
their sinister glory. When Halloween celebrations don't quite go as planned,
it's a race against time as Poppy and her friends fight to save her family and
all of Salem from the witches' latest death-defying scheme".
When I read that description, I knew that I had to have this
book, and I had to read it. This book did not disappoint me one bit. The way
the author, A.W. Jantha, takes the story to a whole
new level, and instead of changing the story, the author expands on the story. Plus,
who could resist the amazing cover?
The
main things that catch my attention when I decide to read a book and purchase
it are the following two things: the cover and the description. Right from the
start both caught my attention, although I will admit I totally squealed when I
saw the cover and the title. This book is a must read for anyone who loves the
movie Hocus Pocus and the Sanderson Sisters. This book will not disappoint you,
and will have you wanting to watch the movie again and again!! Plus I was also
singing along when the scene of "I put a spell on you came on", I
couldn't help it, it's a catchy song 😊

About Me
Hey Guys,
I created this blog, because I wanted to share my love of reading with fellow book nerds. To me reading is a way that we can escape life, and we are able to visit other places without leaving. I want to also give honest reviews about books. I will post about every book I read, but I won't give out spoilers, because I want everyone to be surprised by the ending. The books that I will review are from several different genres, because I honestly read just a little bit of everything.
I don't know how many people this blog will reach, but I also created it because I love writing. To me writing is a way to express feelings and emotions, especially about books that break my heart, and make me fall in love with them. You can always tell a good book by how it makes you feel while reading it. Does it immerse you into the story that you experience the same emotions as the characters? Do you scream at them that they are making a huge mistake, and cheer for them when something goes right for them? Do you cry when they get their heart broken and feel scared when they are scared?
If you have experienced all or any of the above things while reading, than congratulations, you have read a book or many books that have transported you into their story. I will admit I have gone through all of these emotions and more. I have cried, laughed, gotten anxious, fell in love, and never wanted a story to end. I have even read books in one sitting because I couldn't stop reading, and I needed to know what happened than and there. Those books are the kind that you think about over and over again and read over and over again.
My promise is that good or bad, I will give my honest opinion on a book. Now just because I don't find a book appealing, doesn't mean that you might not, who knows you may chose to read a book, and loved it even though my review was the opposite. That's okay, because everyone has their own tastes, and knows what grabs their attention. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I am going to enjoy writing on it!
Happy Reading!!!!
