Happy Monday!

 I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! I am excited about the reviews and other posts I have in store for this week. So let's get this amazing week started off with a retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Once Upon a Dream by Liz Braswell, is an amazing remake of the tale of Sleeping Beauty that we all know and love, except it has a twist to it.

Aurora is lead on a twisty adventure to find a way back to herself, while trying to figure out just who she is. When she meets Phillip along the journey she has to learn to trust him. Can she trust him to help get them both out of the nightmare or is he just another pawn of Maleficent's that will lead her on a wild goose chase?

This version of sleeping beauty had me enraptured from the very first word. It stays true to the story we all know and love, but the twist that Liz puts on the original story gives the reader a new found respect for Aurora. No longer does Aurora have to have a man to save her from her sleeping curse, but in this story the Princess gets to take her own story into her hands, which helps women see themselves as capable of saving themselves, without having to wait for a Prince's kiss.

The Frog Prince Review

Hey guys it's Friday!

 I figured that I would finish the week off with a retelling of a classic fairy tale. The Frog Prince by Jenni James is a wonderful retake of the classic Frog Prince that we have all came to know and love. This book gives the reader an interesting twist on how a prince turned himself into a frog, in order to discover who his betrothed really is.

Prince Nolan decides that he wants to meet the woman he married to see what exactly he is getting himself into. He decides that he needs to be turned into a frog, because it would give him the advantage to see just how Princess Blythe really is. When he gets turned into a frog and finds the Princess, he realizes that he got more than he bargained for, and is willing to see it to the end. Will Prince Nolan get his happily ever after or will he be forced to remain a frog forever?

This story had me laughing, and honestly gave me a new appreciation for The Frog Prince story in general. You will fall in love with Prince Nolan, and you get to see inside Princess Blythe's soul where you will be able to make your own judgement. Jenni takes the reader into a wonderful world and makes this fairy tale perfect for a newer generation. If you love fairy tale retellings, this is one retelling that you won't want to miss.

The Cold King Review

Happy Wednesday Readers!

 Today I am going to be reviewing The Cold King by Amber Jaeger, which is a different way to look at the story of Beauty and the Beast. This story took me on a wild ride that I had no intention of getting off until I reached the end, which I did lose a lot of sleep reading it, but hey it was 100% worth it.

All Calia wants to do is make sure her younger siblings are taken care of, because her mother is too lazy and self absorbed to take care of them herself. Calia doesn't feel appreciated by her family, and it seems that her mother is always trying to get rid of her. When the chance comes to send a new servant to the Cold Kings castle, Calia's mom jumps at the chance for riches, and to get rid of her daughter. When Calia is deposited at the castle, she sees it as a new challenge to escape the life she previously had. However as she gets to know the Cold King she starts to learn that not everything is as it seems, and that just maybe he is as stuck as she is. With both of them in a situation they never wanted or asked for can they help each other survive or be stuck in their unwanted situations forever?

This book is so beautifully written by Amber that the reader is brought on a wild adventure, and with the detailed description, you will be transported into the castle with Calia. What I really loved about this book is it took the story of Beauty and the Beast, and put a spin on it, while keeping to the spirit of the original story. Any lover of Beauty and the Beast  needs to read this amazing story, and get lost in the Cold King's castle.

2019 Goals For My Blog

Hey Guys!

  So I know I am a little slow in getting this out, but better late than never, and I had to think about what I wanted from this blog. I also had to sit down and think about why I started this blog in the first place. The reason I started the blog is because I love reading, and want to share my love of reading with fellow readers. But when you think about it the only way that you can reach fellow readers, you have to get your blog out there. I started figuring this out, and noticed that I needed to be active on more social media sites, where I can hopefully bring more people to my blog. I also started following fellow bloggers on Twitter, and when they started doing blog follows, pintrest follows, Facebook, and Instagram follow posts I started to participate in this as well. I also learned about Bloglovin through those posts, and found that I could connect my Bloglovin profile to my blog, which has helped a lot. I don't have a lot of followers on my blog as of now, but that is what goal setting is for.

So without further waiting, my blog goals for 2019 are as follows:

1. Get more followers to follow my blog
2. Be more active on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook
3. Reach out to more authors in my posts by tagging them in Twitter posts. This is to help get my reviews out there and get more people interested in my blog
4. Try to get on WordPress, because this seems like the most popular outlet for bloggers
5. Make more time between work to work on my blog and research how to get my blog out in the universe
6. Make business cards with my blog information on it, and pass them out to authors when I go to Comic Cons to get more attention
7. See if I can continue doing my blog on blogspot, and have a WordPress blog going at the same time (I am going to test this theory, but may have to figure out which one works better, if I can't keep up with both of them)
8. Figure out more interesting, book related things to blog about on Tuesdays and Thursdays when I don't do book reviews

These goals are to help make my blog successful and get it out in the wide world of the internet. I also want to read more books throughout the year, so I can get more book reviews out there. I am going to work hard on these goals, because I want to make this blog as successful as possible, but I also have to understand that it may not get a lot of followers, which is okay because I am doing something I love and am passionate about. Reading books and writing are two of my passions and I am so happy that I get to do both with this blog!

Rising Review

Happy of Happiest Friday's Everyone!

 I hope everyone's week was a good one. Today I wanted to review an amazing book that I stumbled upon one day while looking at kindle books, and after reading the description I knew I had to see what happens. Rising by Holly Kelly takes the reader on an adventure on land, as well as, an adventure under the sea.

All Xanthus knows is that he was given a mission, and he is meant to see it through. When he comes on land with a pair of legs, he creeps into Sara's house with the only thought being to kill her. However, when he sees her he can't help but fight his killing instinct, and a power of protectiveness feels him to his core. Sara maybe in a wheelchair, however she has a mighty fine attitude, and she doesn't take no crap from anyone. She just wants to live a normal life, but feels like something is missing in her life. When she meets Xanthus, she discovers that missing part and what her true destiny is. However, will she be able to trust him to protect her, and take her to her rightful home or will she just feel like an outsider forever?

This book is told from two points of view, Xanthus's and Sara's. I like when books do this, because I feel like you get more of the story that way. Holly drags the reader into the story, and makes you wish that you could grow a fin, because when she describes the underwater part it is so amazing. If you are a fan of mermaids, strong female characters, a good love story, and a story where characters find where they truly belong, than this book is for you!

Made For Me Review

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

 I hope everyone had an amazing day yesterday! I know I loved spending time with my family during the Holidays! Today I wanted to do a fun book review for ya'll. Made for Me by Kathryn R. Biel is one laugh out loud, romantic comedy, that any Project Runway lover would absolutely love!

Now not only is she having to design outfits for a Duchess to wear in public, but she is having to deal with her anxiety of being on television and trying to keep her eye on the prize where so many distractions are thrown her way. Along the way she is able to find her path, and realizes just want she wants to do with her life even if she loses the competition. But will a television romance put a plug in Michele's dreams?

While reading this book, I found myself relating to Michele on just about every level, except I am older, and I am not a fashion designer. What I loved most about this book, is you were transported into the story right along with Michele and were able to connect with her on an emotional level. When she is anxious, I was anxious, when she was laughing, I was laughing, when she was crying, I was crying, and so on. This goes beyond just a story, because it takes the reader on their own journey to find something that might be missing in their life.

Wolves and Roses Review

Happy Christmas Eve Everyone!

 The book I am reviewing today is Wolves and Roses by Christina Bauer. This book focuses on people who live fairy tale templates, and are supposed to follow them. You get to meet Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, and other fairy tale characters that you have come to love!

I don't want to expand more on the book from the description, because I don't want to give anything away. But if you love fairy tales, sexy shape shifters, witches, mystery, ancient Egypt, and a story that will leave you on the edge of your seat, then this book is for you. I am currently reading the sequal to this book now called Shifters and Glyphs, and I have to tell you I can't put it down. I will probably actually be done with it tonight!

Do or Di Review

Happy Friday Everyone!

 We made it through another week, and I think that is something to celebrate! Today I am going to review the comical Do or Di by Eileen Cook. I stumbled upon this book when I was looking for books to read on my kindle. When I read the description it pulled me in, and I knew that I had to give this book a chance. Needless to say I wasn't disappointed.

Erin decides to just go with what the station wants, and figures that if this goes off without a hitch, than she will soon have her own talk show. However she doesn't expect to find a new path that interests her along the way, and who knows she may even find love in the one place she didn't expect it.

Erin is like every woman who hasn't found their prince charming and is just settling for mister right now. We have all been in her shoes, and while reading the story you can feel everything Erin is feeling. You will laugh, scream, cry, and experience almost every emotion under the sun. Eileen has the capability of drawing the reader into her story, and taking you on a wild adventure. You get to experience the journey of discovery right along with Erin as she discovers who she really is and what she truly wants in life. Who knows you may discover something about yourself that you never knew as well.

Winterspell Review

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

 With Christmas being right around the corner I wanted to review a book that put me in the Christmas spirit. Winterspell by Claire Legrand is a retelling of the Nutcracker, and what a story it is. I honestly knew very little about the Nutcracker before I read this book, and I haven't even seen the ballet of it, although I have always wanted to. Even with going in not knowing a lot about the story, this story paints a clear and descriptive picture of what the Nutcracker is about.

Clara's world is thrown through a loop on Christmas Eve when her home is destroyed and her father is taken. Clara doesn't know what to do, until she learns about the world of Cane. Claire is such an amazing storyteller, that she brings the reader into a dark retelling of the Nutcracker, and spins the most beautiful story of a heroine who must find her true self. She gives life to all of her characters, and with her storytelling, the reader doesn't have to know anything about the Nutcracker prior to reading the story. This is one story that everyone who loves adventure, mystery, and characters going on a journey to find out who they really are, cannot miss!

Reflection Review

Hello Readers!

 I hope everyone had an amazing weekend, I know mine was relaxing after getting my final grades and graduation done. You all know how much of a Disney fan I am, and this book is by far one of my favorite retellings. Reflection by Elizabeth Lim, is a retelling of the amazing Disney movie Mulan! The second I saw this book was coming out, and read the description, I knew I had to have this book, and it did not disappoint.

What would have happened if Shang had been more severely wounded, and got shot with the arrow instead of Mulan? In this retelling, you get to dive into the what if world, and it is one amazing ride. Mulan has to travel to the Underworld to save Shang's soul, and save his life in the process. She joins Shang's guardian ShiShi, and runs into some trouble. She has to save Shang, but when she finds him will he willingly go with her or will he choose to stay where he can be reunited with his deceased loved ones?

What I really loved about this book, as the rest of the books in the series, it takes the story that we all know and love, and ramps it up a couple of notches. This story will take the reader on a wild journey into what would have happened if Shang got shot instead of Mulan. Mulan feels so much guilt that she knows she has to save Shang's life even if it means she exposes her secret and puts her own life in danger. Elizabeth takes the reader on a winding journey through the Underworld, and delivers a more in depth story to Mulan. She doesn't take anything away from what the movie does, but adds on to it and draws the reader into a dark world of what if's.

  So today is an amazing day, because I am graduating with my Bachelor's degree today! So I wanted to review a funny romance story that deals with supernatural beings. The Vampire's Mail Order Bride by Kristen Painter is a laugh out loud romance story that you will want to read again and again.

This story is told from two points of view, Delaney's and Hugh's. You will laugh, and be on the edge of your seat until the very end. This is one book you won't want to put down, and you will fall in love with all the characters. Good thing this is part of a book series, so that you are able to see other characters stories!

 We have reached the middle of the week, and I wanted to share one of my favorite YA books with you. The Juliet Club by Suzanne Harper, takes the reader one a wild journey full of love and laughter. It is set in Verona, Italy and is a summer camp for Shakespeare lovers.

However when she gets there she finds that the students want to play a trick on her and Giacomo. So they decide to turn the tables on the students, and go along with their plan. However along the way Kate discovers things about herself, learns to let go, and wonders if you can truly escape from love.

This is one story that will make the reader dive into the Shakespeare world with Kate. You will laugh, get angry, and root for her to figure out just exactly what she wants. You can also relate to Kate's character, especially if you have ever been dumped in High School for another girl. This is one adventure that Shakespeare would be proud of, and any lover of Shakespeare needs to read. Don't let this amazing story pass you by.

 Today I wanted to showcase some more fun facts about another one of my favorite authors, Charlotte Bronte. She is the author of the amazing Jane Eyre, as well as other amazing works. When I read Jane Eyre, I fell in love with the story telling and of course the brooding Mr. Rochester. I honestly don't know a lot about Charlotte's life, and wanted to find some facts to share with you today, so we can all learn about this amazing author together.

• She was born on April 21, 1816
• She had five siblings
• She was able to see and read better in the dark, than she was in the light
• She was a teacher for a time, but actually despised it
• She was only about four and a half feet tall
• The school in Jane Eyre is based on her and her sisters experiences while in a school just like it
• If she was alive today she would be 201 years old
• Her sisters wanted her to make the character of Jane Eyre beautiful, thinking the public wouldn't embrace a plain looking heroine, however she refused to change Jane's appearance

Happy Monday Guys!

  I hope everyone had a good weekend, I know mine was busy getting everything down for the end of my semester. I wanted to review a book that I love so, so much! Splintered by A.G. Howard, is a retake on Alice in Wonderland, with a dark twist, and a sexy guy named Morpheus, who ended up on my hot literary guys list last week.

Alyssa is just your run of the mill ordinary girl, except she hears flowers and bugs talking to her. She thinks she is going crazy and tries to chalk it up as to hearing things. When her mother starts slipping further away from reality, Alyssa meets Morpheus, who helps Alyssa realize that everything her mother was telling her was probably true. Take into account this mysterious man, and her crush on her best friend Jeb, and you got one love triangle on your hands. As Alyssa journeys through Wonderland, the reader is taken on an action packed adventure with her, and you will see all your favorite scenes from Wonderland, and a few more that take the story into a whole new world.

A.G. Howard has a talent for making sexy male characters, Morpheus will always be my favorite, although Jeb doesn't sound too bad, and taking the reader through a magical journey. She has the ability to pull the reader into the story, where you will experience all the wonder that Alyssa is experiencing, and you will feel like you are walking and dancing in Wonderland right along with her. If you love Alice in Wonderland or just love retellings that don't take away from the classic story, than you don't need to miss out on this once in a lifetime adventure. Also, this is book one of a trilogy, and all I have to say is the adventure just keeps getting better and better!

 Yes, I am doing two book reviews back to back this week, however I wanted to review I'm Your Man by my dear friend Joanne Rawson today because today this book is available on Amazon! Ruth is happy with her boyfriend Justin, however as time goes on, she starts to wonder why he hasn't met her family, and every time she asks him to go somewhere, something suddenly comes up. When Ruth drowns her sorrows in a hotel bar one night, she wakes up the next morning discovering that she had a one night stand with the man, who she met at the bar. Ruth is thrown threw a whirlwind as she tries to figure out what and who she really wants. Can Ruth figure it out before it is too late?

In true Joanne fashion, the story is told from multiple points of view, so that you can get the bigger picture, plus see what everyone is thinking. This book will have you laughing till your crying, and in the end you will be rooting for Ruth to pick a certain man, although I am not going to say who that is because I don't want to give anything away. I have always loved everything Joanne writes, and this one is no exception, and I am excited for what she will come out with next. She has a talent for making the characters become more human, and she makes the story jump out at the reader, while drawing you in. If you are looking for a sexy romance novel, than this is your kind of book. I suggest everyone pick up a copy, because this is one romance that you won't want to miss.

Cleopatra's Moon Review

Happy Friday Readers!!

 So I have always been a fan of Ancient Egypt and Cleopatra, when I saw this book and read the description I knew I had to read it. Cleopatra's Moon by author Vicky Alvear Shecter is told from Cleopatra's daughter point of view. Vicky has taken historical aspects and blended them into a beautifully crafted story that will transport the reader to Ancient Egypt, and Ancient Rome.

Selene witnesses her parents death, and than is forced to travel to a city and live with people who hate her and her mother. She starts to notice certain things, and tries to live up to her family name, while navigating her life in Rome. She does fall in love with two different men, but in the end she picks the one that is best for her. This entire story is told from Selene's point of view and the reader gets a sense of what it was like for Cleopatra's children after the fall of Egypt.

Vicky pulls you into the story with the most amazing descriptions that will make you feel like you are in ancient cities yourself. She brings you on Selene's emotional roller coaster, and makes you want to learn more about the amazing place that was once Alexandria. You will also want to know more about Cleopatra, Anthony, Selene, and every character in this amazing story. The author leaves you a little historical note at the end to let you know what became of Selene and the man she chooses to live the rest of her life with.

This book is a must read for anyone who loves history, ancient Egypt, Cleopatra or the beautiful place that Alexandria once was.

Happy Thursday Everyone!

  I am always scrolling through Pinterest and seeing all these accurate book quotes that I relate to on every level. So, I have decided to compile some of them here and share my favorites with you, as a way to bring something new to my blog. I love reading, because it allows you to leave the real world, and go on an adventure to many different places. It helps you relax and lets all the stress of the day melt way while you read. Plus, depending on what kind of book you are reading, you can figure some things out about yourself and relationships. Books are a way to escape, a way for you to have a relationship with a fictional character (yes it is probably crazy, but come on you can't honestly tell me you haven't fallen in love with one or many in my case 😁), and to just get a way from life for a little bit. Here are a few ones I found on Pinterest from various boards that I relate to, and I hope you do too!















The first fictional character I had a crush on was Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, and my latest one is Ramos from The Shelby Nichols Adventure series. Between you and me though Mr. Darcy will always be my favorite, even though he started out as a snobby meanie, he did things in the end to make the woman he loved happy, and that's all that matters!  The book I am going to review today is From Here To You by the amazingly talented Jamie McGuire. Every book I have read of hers has pulled at my heart strings, and her characters are so real that you will feel a part of them. I have never been disappointed in any of Jamie's books, and this one blew me away yet again!

Darby knows that she is in a very bad relationship, but doesn't see anyway out of it, because she knows if she runs she will die. While panicking in a church bathroom, she discovers she is pregnant and knows that she has to leave the relationship for the sake of her child. She escapes and manages to find a job at a hotel in Colorodo Springs. While there she meets Trex, who wants Darby and will do anything to be with her, however he knows that something is wrong and he has to take things slow. You also get to hear about some of the Maddox brothers from the Beautiful Disaster series, but I am not telling you which ones. 

This book hit me really deep, because I was once in a horrible relationship just like Darby, where he was mentally abusive and that does something to a person. Darby's character was so close to how I felt that I could relate with her and everything she was going through. Also, might I dare say it but.....I found Trex to be sexier than Travis. Jamie knows how to bring the characters to life, and bring the reader into the story. Even if you haven't read anything by her before, you need to read this amazing story, because you won't be disappointed!

Royal Bastards Review

  I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! Today I am going to be reviewing Royal Bastards by Andrew Shvarts. I will admit the title of the book did initially draw me to pick it up, however after I read the description inside the cover of the book, I knew I had to read it. Although it does start out slow, I continued to read it to see what would happen, and I wasn't disappointed.

The description basically gives the reader the idea of what the book is going to be about without giving away anything. There really isn't anything about the story that I can say without giving anything away. I will say that there is a lot of romance, but there are no descriptive sex scenes or anything like that. The book does end on a cliff hanger, however that is to be expected because this book is the first part of a trilogy. You will fall in love with the characters, I developed a crush on Zell, but apparently I have a thing for bad boys, lol. If you are able to stick with the story and give it a chance, you shouldn't be disappointed. I actually started to like the story by the middle of it.

With this book it is honestly a hit or miss. It will have a lot to do with what kind of books you like to read, and if you can actually make it to the middle part. If the description doesn't make you 100% sure you want to read it, than I suggest you don't because you probably won't like it.
