The Genius of Jane Austen Through Quotes

Hey Guys!

Today I wanted to do some quotes from my favorite author Jane Austen. Not many people know that the quotes that Jane Austen came up with were funny, intelligent, before her time, can fit in today's society, and are just amazing! I even used one of Austen's quotes at the bottom of my graduation invitations that had to do with education, and it fit perfectly. She has quotes about reading, life, relationships, inspirational, and in all honesty truthful. Here are some of her quotes that I absolutely love, that I found with Google!

Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star Review

Happy Wednesday!

I have made it no secret of how much I love Mr. Darcy, and the book Pride and Prejudice. Today I wanted to share with you all a fun rocktastic retelling of my favorite Austen book ever! Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star by Heather Lynn Rigaud, is one of the best retellings of Pride and Prejudice that I have ever read!

The description was taken from the Goodreads website:

""Darcy's as hot as he is talented..."

Fast music, powerful beats, and wild reputations-on and off stage-have made virtuoso guitarist Fitzwilliam Darcy's band into rock's newest bad boys. But they've lost their latest opening act, and their red-hot summer tour is on the fast track to disaster. Now Darcy and bandmates Charles Bingley and Richard Fitzwilliam are about to meet their match...

"But she's about to rock his world..."

Enter Elizabeth Bennet, fiercely independent star of girl-band Long Borne Suffering. Elizabeth, her sister Jane, and friend Charlotte Lucas have talent to spare and jump at the opening band slot. Elizabeth is sure she's seen the worst the music industry has to offer. But as the days and nights heat up, it becomes clear that everyone is in for a summer to remember."

Imagine if Elizabeth and Darcy were thrown into the modern world and became rock stars. This is exactly what this book gives you while still staying true to the original story. All the characters that you know and love are back, and all the love/hate relationships are still there, they are just thrown in with a mix of rock and roll. I am trying not to give too much away, because I don't do spoilers, but I want to make sure that people understand how amazing this book is. I will admit I was skeptical when I first picked up this book, but when I started reading I was not disappointed, and I couldn't put it down. It will have you dreaming of Mr. Darcy in tight pants for years to come. This is one story you would want to read over and over again. This novel allows the wonderful story of Pride and Prejudice to be presented to a whole new audience. This is one novel Jane Austen would be proud of.

Rock out with Darcy my fellow readers!

My List of Hot Literary Guys

Hello Fellow Readers!

Today I decided to make a list of all of the hottest literary guys that I can not get out of my mind. If you are like me, than there is always that one fictional character or many that you find extremely hot. I know it sounds crazy if you have never experienced this, however if you have than you will know exactly what I am talking about. In my opinion, an author wouldn't make a character so dreamy if they didn't hope that you would fall in love with that character just a little. I am not going to rank them, because honestly the guys on the list all have a special place in my heart. I will however name the book that they are in, so if you get curious you can read them, and hopefully fall in love with them as well! Who knows you may have fallen in love with the same characters or some on this list. If you have leave me a comment and let me know! Now let the fun begin!!

  • Mr. Darcy- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • Ramos- The Shelby Nichols Series by Colleen Helme
  • Travis- Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
  • Jack- The Lantern's Ember by Colleen Houck
  • Henry Nobly- Austenland by Shannon Hale
  • Heathcliff- Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
  • Edward Rochester- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
  • Ramses the Damned- The Mummy by Anne Rice
  • Scott "Trex" Trexler- From Here to You by Jamie McGuire
  • Caleb Scott- Fight or Flight by Samantha Young
  • Braden Carmichael- On Dublin Street by Samantha Young
  • Tharin Lunar- The Binding by L. Filloon
  • Fiske- Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
  • Gideon- Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
  • Morpheus- Splintered by A.G. Howard
  • Thorn- Roseblood by A.G. Howard

There are a lot more out there, however this is only the first list. If you have a favorite fictional character that didn't make the list leave a comment. I would love to know what other's are thinking as well!

Quotes For Book Nerds

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I am always scrolling through Pinterest and seeing all these accurate book quotes that I relate to on every level. So, I have decided to compile some of them here and share my favorites with you, as a way to bring something new to my blog. I love reading, because it allows you to leave the real world, and go on an adventure to many different places. It helps you relax and lets all the stress of the day melt way while you read. Plus, depending on what kind of book you are reading, you can figure some things out about yourself and relationships. Books are a way to escape, a way for you to have a relationship with a fictional character (yes it is probably crazy, but come on you can't honestly tell me you haven't fallen in love with one or many in my case 😁), and to just get a way from life for a little bit. Here are a few ones I found on Pinterest from various boards that I relate to, and I hope you do too!

"You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book." ~ Dr. Seuss

When the main character makes a stupid decision and you have to stop reading just to calm yourself down
The worst part about finishing a book is having to find another that was just as…
Sad! They don't know they are missing.

yes I read book, and yes I live in a crazy fantasy world

Reading is magical...

Just do it. You don't have to be like that character, for me is good enough to even read my favorite book ♥

So my best friend and I are falling in love with Kili from the Hobbit...... But before that it was ALWAYS DAVID TENNANT AS THE DOCTOR

The first fictional character I had a crush on was Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, and my latest one is Ramos from The Shelby Nichols Adventure series. Between you and me though Mr. Darcy will always be my favorite, even though he started out as a snobby meanie, he did things in the end to make the woman he loved happy, and that's all that matters! I hope you enjoyed these quotes!

Now go dive into a book and have a brand new adventure!

Austenland Review

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I hope everyone has a good, safe Thanksgiving tomorrow! As you know I am a huge fan of Jane Austen, and love every single one of her books. Today I am reviewing Austenland by author Shannon Hale. I couldn't put this book down when I read it, and when I saw they were making a movie, I knew I had to see it. I have actually read the book and watched the movie more times than I can count, and each time although I know what is going to happen, I am still drawn into the story.

The description was taken from the Goodreads website:

"Jane Hayes is a seemingly normal young New Yorker, but she has a secret. Her obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, is ruining her love life: no real man can compare. But when a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-crazed women, Jane's fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become realer than she ever could have imagined.

Decked out in empire-waist gowns, Jane struggles to master Regency etiquette and flirts with gardeners and gentlemen;or maybe even, she suspects, with the actors who are playing them. It's all a game, Jane knows. And yet the longer she stays, the more her insecurities seem to fall away, and the more she wonders: Is she about to kick the Austen obsession for good, or could all her dreams actually culminate in a Mr. Darcy of her own?"

Jane Hayes is like every woman who reads Pride and Prejudice, falls in love with Mr. Darcy, well at least she is like me. Jane is giving the once in a lifetime opportunity to go back into Jane Austen's world, wearing the gowns they were, meeting gentlemen, living in Jane's shoes, and basically living every person's fantasy of living in Jane Austen's world. Jane has always wanted to meet her very own Mr. Darcy, and she might just have the chance to fall in love with a fictional character that has come to life.

This book will have you laughing, crying, screaming, and wanting Austenland to be a real place that you can visit. Even if you have seen the movie, which is just as amazing as the book, you still need to read this book, because it gives you deeper look into the story than the movie does. If you love Jane Austen and want the experience of living in her shoes, you need to read this book, and let it transport you to a resort that someone needs to build, because I want to go and find my own Mr. Darcy.

Happy journey into Jane Austen's world my friends!
